Job Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in inflight operations, crew scheduling or related airline experience
  • 2 years of leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree or additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of degree
  • Ability to complete Alaska Airlines initial training/IOE, hold FAA flight attendant certificate, and remain qualified through recurrent training
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain and keep current a U.S. Passport
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age 21
  • Ability and willingness to work a variable schedule including being on call for 24 hours
  • Professional, reliable, able to work under pressure
  • Team spirited, congenial, self-reliant, self-motivated and assertive
  • Ability to prioritize and organize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and listening
  • Contract labor exposure
  • Proficiency with common computer applications

Job Duties

  • Lead team and establish priorities of building a positive and trusting relationship with flight attendants and AFA representatives
  • Maintain a highly visible presence at the base by attending to and handling flight attendant concerns
  • Ensure ongoing and timely communication with the flight attendant group
  • Administer the labor contract
  • Oversee base operations with a focus on employee relations, safety, and sick leave management, aligning base objectives with broader departmental goals
  • Lead strategic planning and resource allocation including budget planning and staffing schedules
  • Administer labor agreements and maintain expert-level knowledge of FAA regulations and flight attendant procedures
  • Champion performance and accountability by providing leadership in disciplinary processes and performance management
  • Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback
  • Collaborate across functions by representing inflight at daily operational leadership meetings and partnering with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate impacts of off-schedule operations
  • Participate in hiring and probation reviews, conduct IOE check rides, and serve as liaison with local station leadership
  • Represent the company in community and public relations efforts while executing additional leadership duties as assigned
