Job Requirements

  • ability to lift, stack, and maneuver objects up to 50 pounds
  • operation of hand trucks and pallet jacks
  • proper use of cleaning chemicals
  • adherence to food safety standards per state, county, and company regulations
  • food handlers certification current
  • experience with computer terminals and office machines
  • use of order/scan guns
  • operation of specific bakery department equipment
  • experience in supervisory roles and product management preferred

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist Bakery Department Manager in meeting sales and gross margin objectives
  • create promotional and seasonal displays
  • prepare, proof, stage, and package products
  • prevent shrink, oversee cost and quality control
  • order products and ingredients
  • prepare sales and production guides
  • chart and record sales
  • compute gross profit
  • maintain accurate department records
  • control expenses
  • maintain customer service standards
  • ensure product quantity, quality, and freshness
  • order, check, receive, and control inventory
  • organize product display and storage
  • stock and rotate products
  • inspect displays for substandard or outdated items
  • ensure proper temperatures
  • follow labeling laws and company policies
  • trim, cut, wrap, tray, display and water products
  • ensure proper pricing and signage
  • conduct inventories
  • supervise, motivate, coach, train, and hire department personnel
  • monitor employee performance and recommend personnel actions
  • schedule personnel
  • perform customer relations and sales techniques
  • merchandise products properly
  • maintain cleanliness and appearance of work areas
  • maintain a safe and secure work environment
  • perform receiving duties
  • break down freight
  • operate related equipment
