Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or related field
  • 5 - 7 years experience in Safety or related area
  • familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in safety field
  • ability to collect data and analyze problems
  • good communication skills
  • proficiency in MS Office applications
  • ability to work independently and lead others
  • willingness to participate in audits and safety inspections

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or related field
  • 5 - 7 years experience in Safety or related area and a familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Safety field
  • ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • ability to perform a variety of complex tasks
  • ability to work independently with little supervision
  • ability to lead and direct the work of others at times
  • must have good oral and written communication skills
  • proficient in all MS Office applications

Job Duties

  • Train employees on safety policies, procedures and regulations
  • ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations by periodically conducting audits
  • ensure necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines to meet compliance laws
  • participate in Occupational Safety Administration (OSHA) inspections by providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures
  • establish and measure goals for the Safety program at the facility
  • communicate effectively with plant management on Safety issues
  • assist supervisors with Safety issues in their departments
  • conduct incident investigations and develop corrective action for critical situations
  • communicate with supervisor all issues requiring action
  • monitor and upkeep of Safety equipment
  • provide information for Capital and Operational budget items relating to Safety
  • other duties may be assigned
