Job Requirements

  • high school diploma
  • two years of leadership experience or three years of equivalent combination of culinary education and culinary experience
  • registered dietitian or certified dietary manager within 24 months
  • servsafe food protection manager upon hire
  • servsafe allergen certification within 60 days
  • ability to maintain regulatory compliance and infection control practices
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to manage staff and workloads efficiently
  • willingness to travel between campuses as needed

Job Qualifications

  • associate degree in culinary arts or hospitality management preferred

Job Duties

  • maintain and administer culinary and nutrition services
  • provide operational support to staff members
  • assist with creating and ensuring patient and retail service standards are met
  • conduct sanitation and performance audits consistently
  • identify learning needs and opportunities for staff
  • follow purchasing agreements and compliance goals
  • assist with compliance audits across campuses
  • direct patient non-interactive positions such as storeroom clerks and cooks
  • maintain regulatory compliance and infection control practices
  • maintain communication with staff and customers regarding service levels
  • promote patient satisfaction with nutritional services
  • conduct frequent patient rounding and visitations
  • ensure regulatory standards are met in nutrition programs
  • collaborate with other departments to coordinate standards
  • maintain adequate staffing reflecting cost efficiency
  • assign staff and workloads respecting changing priorities
  • recruit, hire, and manage staff performance
  • conduct job shadowing audits and provide coaching
  • actively participate in menu development for various services
  • prioritize culinary excellence, innovation, sustainability, and food waste reduction
  • participate in hospital committees
  • oversee and plan menus for special events and catering
  • travel to other campuses as needed
  • perform other duties assigned by leadership
