This job opportunity is a hybrid role based at the SBH support center located at Legacy West in Plano, Texas. As the Manager of Events & Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s public relations strategy, focusing on events, partnerships, and sponsorships that enhance the brand’s visibility and engagement. This role demands a visionary leader who exercises independent judgment and strategic decision-making to bring public relations initiatives to life, ranging from consumer and press-facing events to activating external partnerships. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, prioritizing initiatives, managing creative approaches, and allocating resources effectively to ensure all PR efforts remain true to the brand, delivered on time, and within budget.

In this managerial position, you will serve as the primary strategic lead for the company’s PR agency of record. Your duties will include directing priorities, overseeing budgets, managing timelines, and defining the creative scope to align PR initiatives with overarching business objectives. You will independently lead the planning and execution of PR events and partnerships, taking accountability for every detail from concept development through to post-event analysis. Your expertise will guide seasonal and campaign-specific activations to align them with key product launches, brand messaging, cultural moments, and business priorities.

This role requires strong business acumen and a passion for the beauty industry, along with creative leadership skills. You will build and manage strategic relationships with external partners, beauty experts, vendors, and agencies, independently evaluating potential partnerships and negotiating terms to ensure alignment with company goals. Collaboration with internal teams across marketing, creative, social media, retail, and merchandising will be essential to integrate events and partnerships across channels using data-driven insights to optimize outcomes.

Analyzing event and partnership performance metrics will be part of your responsibility to develop strategic recommendations that influence future investments and planning. You will handle the management of partnership and sponsorship agreements, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring all contracts and commitments are fulfilled. Additionally, you will oversee budget management related to events and activations, including tracking costs, processing invoices, and reconciling expenses to keep initiatives within approved financial parameters.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field, and have 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, PR, or events execution. Experience managing brand activations and a background in the beauty or retail industry are highly preferred. Familiarity with media outlets, content creators, celebrities, and notable beauty or lifestyle brands is important for success in this role. This position offers a hybrid work environment with three days onsite at Legacy West, Plano, Texas, and two days remote, and it requires some travel.

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary strategic lead and decision-making authority in the relationship with the company’s PR agency of record directing priorities budgets timelines and creative scope to align with business objectives
  • Lead the strategy planning and execution of PR events consumer and press-facing partnerships and sponsorships from concept through completion independently making decisions on logistics creative direction vendor selection on-site management and post-event analysis
  • Own the development and management of seasonal and campaign-specific PR activations exercising strategic judgment to align activations with key product and brand launches cultural moments and business priorities
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with external partners Sally Beauty expert talent vendors and agencies evaluate and determine partner fit negotiate terms and make decisions on partnership direction and priorities
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with internal teams marketing creative social retail merchandising applying independent judgment to determine how events and partnerships should be integrated across channels with a data-led approach
  • Analyze event and partnership performance metrics and develop data-driven strategic recommendations that shape future PR investment decisions and planning priorities
  • Own the management of partnership and sponsorship agreements timelines and deliverables exercising judgment on prioritization and escalation to ensure all contractual obligations and business commitments are met
  • Manage and make spend decisions across budgets for events partnerships and campaign activations including cost tracking invoice processing and expense reconciliation accountable for ensuring all initiatives are delivered within approved parameters
