Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- At least 6 years relevant field experience or equivalent combination
- Minimum 1 year of management or leadership experience
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle complex problems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field or a different combination such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience, or Ph.D. and 1 year experience, or 10 years' experience in a related field
- 1+ year of experience in management or lead role
- Previous auto transportation or logistics experience strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to make decisions
- Customer service skills
- Strong problem solving and innovative thinking skills
- Extreme patience dealing with explosive situations, flawless follow-up procedures
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulations impacting daily operations (DOT - national and state)
Job Duties
- Provide daily guidance and assistance to Dispatch Supervisors and teams
- Help develop the strategic direction for the dispatch department, continuous improvement and development of lane strategies
- Manage timesheets, time off requests
- Provide updates and insight on the current overall state of dispatch to superiors
- Monitor key accounts to manage SLA expectations
- Assist in hiring skilled dispatchers and lead a high performing team
- Work closely with the Carrier Performance teams to ensure alignment to KPIs, SLAs and company goals
- Responsible for making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level
- Develop and monitor KPIs for the Dispatch team
- Align own area's priorities with the broader organization's vision, values, and strategies
- Adapt plans and priorities to address resource and operational changes
- Engage with senior leaders to support goal and objective development
