Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • minimum 6 years experience in related field or equivalent
  • at least 1 year management or leadership experience
  • authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • knowledge of DOT regulations
  • ability to make decisions and solve problems
  • experience working under pressure and handling complex operations
  • commitment to customer service excellence

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • minimum 6 years experience in a related field or a combination of education and experience such as a master's degree with 4 years experience, Ph.D. with 1 year experience, or 10 years experience
  • at least 1 year of experience in a management or lead role
  • previous auto transportation or logistics experience preferred
  • proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • proven decision-making ability
  • excellent customer service skills
  • strong problem solving and innovative thinking skills
  • ability to maintain patience and professionalism in high-pressure situations
  • comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations relevant to daily operations

Job Duties

  • Provide daily guidance and assistance to Dispatch Supervisors and teams
  • help develop the strategic direction for the dispatch department including continuous improvement and lane strategy development
  • manage time sheets and time off requests
  • provide updates and insights on the overall state of dispatch to superiors
  • monitor key accounts to manage service level agreement expectations
  • assist in hiring skilled dispatchers and lead a high-performing team
  • work closely with Carrier Performance teams to ensure alignment with KPIs, SLAs, and company goals
  • make corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level
  • develop and monitor KPIs for the Dispatch team
  • align departmental priorities with the broader organization's vision, values, and strategies
  • adapt plans and priorities to address resource and operational changes
  • engage with senior leaders to support goal and objective development
  • identify and solve process, technical, and operational problems
  • communicate broader organizational objectives and the team's impact
  • modify working methods collaboratively to resolve strategic issues
