The Culinary Service Manager role at Aramark is a key management position located in a senior living facility. This role focuses on developing and implementing dietary solutions to meet the specific needs and taste preferences of the residents. The manager is accountable for overseeing all dietary operations and ensuring that the culinary services contribute positively to the wellness and satisfaction of the facility's residents. The responsibilities of the Culinary Service Manager are broad and dynamic, involving leadership duties such as coaching, employee engagement, and performance management based on Aramark's coaching model. The manager rewards and recognizes employee achievements, plans and leads daily team briefings, and ensures that safety and sanitation standards are strictly followed. Moreover, they serve as the primary liaison for client relationship management—identifying client needs and communicating operational progress effectively.

Financial stewardship is an essential part of the role, as the manager is responsible for maintaining profitability by managing profit and loss statements, achieving client and company financial targets, and educating teams about operational metrics that impact margins. The Culinary Service Manager also champions productivity by enforcing cost control measures and ensuring food and labor initiatives meet Aramark’s Operational Excellence standards.

Compliance with all applicable regulations—covering safety, health, wage, and hour laws—is mandatory. The role entails maintaining a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Additional responsibilities include leading the front-of-house dining operations in conjunction with the Food Service Director, planning and managing food service activities, and ensuring a finished product that exceeds customer expectations.

Job Requirements

  • Culinary experience in senior living or healthcare field for at least 2 years
  • Management experience for at least 2 years
  • Preferred bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills required
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb
  • Ability to stand for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 to 3 years of culinary experience in senior living and/or healthcare field
  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a management role
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain effective client and customer rapport
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard service model
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other departments
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lb
  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Ensure entire team is trained and able to implement
  • Supervise team regarding production, quality and control
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees
  • Follow all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour
  • Lead the front of the house of the dining operation (Cafeteria/Residential Dining Facility) in conjunction with the Food Service Director
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate food service activities in order to deliver a finished product to the customer
