Job Description

CHI Health Nebraska Heart is a premier healthcare provider that delivers leading-edge cardiovascular care to patients across Nebraska and northern Kansas. Known for its extensive network of offices and affiliated hospital-based clinics, the organization offers timely and accessible healthcare close to patients’ homes, ensuring convenience without compromising quality. Located in southeast Lincoln, Nebraska Heart is recognized for reshaping patient care delivery by assembling the largest team of experienced cardiology and vascular professionals in the region. This dedicated team includes advanced practice clinicians, nurses, technologists, and support staff united in providing compassionate, expert care and education to every patient throughout diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

The role of Executive Chef at CHI Health Nebraska Heart is integral to maintaining the highest standards of food service within the health system. As an Executive Chef, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the mission of providing exceptional care by overseeing the preparation, distribution, and storage of all food items. Your leadership will ensure strict adherence to departmental policies and procedures, with a focus on safety and sanitation at every level of kitchen operations. You will be responsible for planning and preparing regular and specialized menus, including those for special events, meticulously following standardized recipes, portioning guidelines, and presentation standards.

In this position, you will also manage inventory control effectively, assisting in catering production, and maintaining cleanliness and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas. Your goal is to optimize operational efficiency while minimizing waste, thereby contributing to the overall performance and reputation of the food service department. Besides culinary expertise, success in this position requires a strong commitment to food safety and sanitation standards, a positive attitude, and high morale to inspire your team.

Your duties will extend beyond routine kitchen management to include assisting in developing patient and retail service standards and ensuring compliance through regular sanitation and performance audits. You will identify learning needs and development opportunities for staff, coordinating expert training to foster a knowledgeable and skilled team. You will also play a key role in following purchasing agreements and supporting compliance audits, working closely with manager and director level leaders across multiple campuses.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for directing patient non-interactive positions such as storeroom clerks and cooks, maintaining regulatory compliance and infection control practices to safeguard patient health. Maintaining open communication channels with staff and customers about service quality will also be central to your role, providing feedback to management to continually enhance patient satisfaction with nutritional services.

This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $32.30 to $48.05, reflecting the importance and expertise required for this leadership role. Working at CHI Health Nebraska Heart means joining a motivated team dedicated to excellence in patient care and service quality, with opportunities for personal and professional growth within a supportive healthcare environment.
