Job Description

Burger King is a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain known for its flame-grilled burgers and quick service. As one of the leading players in the quick service restaurant industry, Burger King continuously strives to deliver excellent guest experiences through quality food, fast and friendly service, and clean and welcoming restaurant environments. Established with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, Burger King has many locations worldwide, providing vast opportunities for growth and career development within the company. The corporate culture focuses on teamwork, operational excellence, and employee development, making it a sought-after employer in the food service industry.

The Assistant Manager (AM) at Burger King plays a crucial role in supporting the Restaurant General Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of a single restaurant. This position is essential in ensuring guest satisfaction by overseeing the delivery of fast, friendly service and maintaining high standards of food quality and cleanliness. The Assistant Manager helps manage financial controls, operations, people development, guest services, and compliance across shifts to achieve key restaurant outcomes such as increased sales, profitability, and employee retention. The AM assumes full accountability for restaurant operations in the absence of the Restaurant General Manager and leads the restaurant team through effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

This role demands flexibility as the Assistant Manager is required to work long and irregular shifts, including extra shifts when necessary, to guarantee the seamless functioning of the establishment. Reporting directly to the Restaurant General Manager, the AM works closely with shift supervisors, team members, outside vendors, and field operations personnel to optimize restaurant performance. Key responsibilities include motivating and training staff, managing cash control and security procedures, implementing marketing plans, maintaining inventory and labor costs, and ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies. The position emphasizes the importance of making guests feel special by delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Beyond operational duties, the Assistant Manager plays a vital role in employee recruitment, training, retention, and disciplinary actions, contributing to building a strong, talented team. This role also requires excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, alongside the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities efficiently. The AM should be comfortable using business reports, budgeting, and applying mathematical concepts to practical situations. The physical nature of the job requires frequent standing, bending, and lifting, often in a fast-paced environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Overall, this position offers a dynamic and rewarding career opportunity for individuals passionate about the food service industry and leadership in a vibrant, customer-facing role.
