The role of Make Ready at Winslow is central to maintaining the property's standard of excellence by preparing future homes for new residents. This position involves thorough inspection of units to ensure they are clean, safe, and move-in ready. The Make Ready technician functions as a vital link between the maintenance team and the residents, handling inspections, repairs, and various maintenance tasks with attention to detail and a proactive approach. This role demands a flexible schedule, as the position requires the ability to work any day of the week throughout the year, responding to the property's operational demands and resident activities. The Make Ready technician will coordinate with teams such as groundskeeping for trash removal and collaborate extensively with maintenance professionals to address major repairs or emergencies.

Beyond the routine preparation of units, the Make Ready technician is tasked with inspecting appliances, faucets, air conditioning systems, and safety devices to confirm they meet quality standards. They are responsible for identifying and procuring necessary parts and materials to complete unit turnarounds efficiently, aiding in the overall resident satisfaction. Physical demands are significant, requiring prolonged periods of walking and lifting heavy items, while mental acuity is crucial for detecting minor defects and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver license
  • Auto liability insurance
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work any day of the week, year-round
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to walk continuously for 8 or more hours
  • Ability to climb, stoop, bend, and grasp objects
  • Visual acuity for detailed inspections
  • Ability to remain in stationary sitting or standing position for 90% of the time

Job Duties

  • Assisting residents and your maintenance team alike
  • As a Make Ready, prepare resident’s future home by inspecting and making sure it is move-in ready
  • Assist the maintenance team with any major projects or repairs as well as in emergency situations
  • Coordinate the trash out of apartments with the grounds team
  • Inspect appliances, faucets, A/C systems, safety devices to ensure they are in working condition
  • Inspect unit construction work and point out any chipped or missing paint, flooring, tile
  • Identify parts, supplies, materials, and pending items needed to complete unit turn in a timely manner
  • Perform routine maintenance by replacing exterior light bulbs, checking irrigation system, walking property to identify potential liabilities
  • Complete service requests by testing/inspecting safety equipment and devices, perform water/sewer extractions, replace blinds and A/C filters
  • Change front door and mailbox locks before turning the unit back to leasing team
