Job Description

EDITION Hotels represent a unique and innovative brand in the luxury hospitality industry, blending the visionary concepts of boutique hotelier Ian Schrager with the exceptional service standards of Marriott International. This sophisticated hotel brand is designed to appeal to discerning guests who appreciate originality, high design, quality, and impeccable service delivered with personality and charm. As a part of Marriott's expansive portfolio, EDITION Hotels push hospitality boundaries by intertwining polish with personality and comfort with charisma, creating an unmatched experience for travelers who seek both luxury and individuality in their stays.

At EDITION Hotels, the focus is on creating an environment where service is delivered genuinely and dynamically, not merely following a set of instructions but coming from the heart. The culture here embraces diversity, inclusiveness, and the unique contributions of each team member, fostering a workplace where employees feel inspired, challenged, and proud of their work. By joining this team, employees become part of a global brand that values talent, creativity, and high standards with an aim to continuously enchant and delight guests through exceptional hospitality.

The Supervisor role at EDITION Hotels is essential in maintaining the seamless harmony and quality of the guest experience. This position requires strong leadership capabilities, as supervisors ensure that all team members work cohesively to deliver excellent service and meet guest needs effectively. Supervisors oversee staff grooming and attire, perform daily opening and closing duties including organizing supplies and securing premises, and conduct inspections of storage areas to guarantee cleanliness and proper stock management through FIFO (First In, First Out) processes. They also monitor the dining rooms for availability and safety, complete inventories, and handle work orders related to maintenance.

In addition to operational responsibilities, supervisors assist management in human resources functions including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees. They also act as role models and primary contacts for the company’s Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy, promoting a positive and safe work environment. Compliance with all safety and security protocols is critical, as is reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions promptly while completing required safety trainings and certifications.

This role demands a dynamic individual who can maintain confidentiality, uphold professional appearance standards, and protect company assets. Supervisors welcome every guest warmly and attentively, anticipating service needs and addressing them with genuine appreciation and professionalism. Effective communication skills, positive interpersonal relationships, teamwork, and productivity enhancements are vital to succeed in this role. Supervisors are also expected to identify opportunities to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and cost-saving initiatives, contributing to the continual growth and excellence of the EDITION brand.

Physically, this position requires stamina and dexterity, as it involves extended periods of standing, walking, and moving through various physical spaces. The role includes lifting and handling supplies and equipment, maneuvering through confined or elevated spaces, and performing other duties as necessary to support hotel operations. Supervisors must be capable of adapting to the dynamic and fast-paced environment of a luxury hotel setting.

Joining EDITION Hotels means engaging in a workplace culture that celebrates differences, champions equal opportunity, and is committed to the professional growth and personal fulfillment of every team member. If you are passionate about providing exemplary service and eager to work in a setting that values creativity, dedication, and heart, this supervisory position offers an opportunity to contribute to an internationally recognized brand known for redefining luxury hospitality.
