Responsibilities include completing repairs and routine maintenance tasks such as painting, caulking, carpet and floor cleaning, changing light bulbs, and fixing toilet seats. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the hotel by following key and lock procedures and supporting exterior upkeep like landscaping, parking lot maintenance, and keeping the premises clean and free of debris.

Beyond technical tasks, the Maintenance Technician I plays an important role in upholding the overall presentation and operational efficiency of the hotel. This includes managing maintenance work orders and documentation, conducting self-room inspections, and accepting feedback from management and quality assurance teams. The position demands the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and the physical capability to operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, often in non-climate controlled environments. Candidates with approximately one year of maintenance experience, proficiency with tools and landscaping equipment, and a proactive attitude will thrive in this role.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferably 1 year maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of general tools and equipment, lawnmower and landscaping tools and equipment strongly preferred
  • Ability to exert physical effort in operating equipment up to 50lbs
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable and punctual

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Performs preventive maintenance in guest rooms and common areas
  • Manages the completion and documentation of maintenance work orders

  • Maintain safety and security of the hotel and follow key and lock procedures
  • Maintain landscaping, parking lot, grounds, and appearance of exterior of buildings, keeping areas free of trash and debris
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
  • Performs self-room inspections and accepting feedback from quality inspections performed by hotel management and trained team members
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
