We are looking to hire capable and motivated Maintenance Engineers who will play a crucial role within our hotel and resort operations. This full-time position involves performing a wide range of preventive maintenance and repair tasks across various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, boiler, chiller, and HVAC systems. The Maintenance Engineer will respond promptly to elevator breakdowns, ensuring all equipment remains functional and safe for our guests and staff. Beyond technical repairs, this role requires maintaining accurate maintenance records, managing engineering supplies and tools appropriately, and upholding cleanliness and order in all engineering work areas. The Maintenance Engineer is expected to communicate effectively and courteously with guests and colleagues while resolving service requests with efficiency and safety as top priorities.
Safety compliance is paramount, and candidates will be required to adhere strictly to policies and procedures related to sanitary, safety, security, and emergency protocols. Regular attendance at department meetings and the ability to report emergencies, injuries, mechanical issues, and any safety hazards promptly to management are essential. Writing detailed shift reports and documenting parts usage and procurement needs are also integral responsibilities of the role. Candidates must demonstrate a consistent professional attitude and a willingness to take on special projects or participate in task forces as assigned. Job Requirements
- physical ability to perform extended standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs
- ability to work in interior hotel environments with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises
- basic education at high school level or equivalent
- willingness to comply with safety, sanitary, security and emergency procedures
- punctuality and adherence to scheduled work hours
- ability to work in proper uniform
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in maintenance or engineering within the hospitality industry preferred
- knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems
- ability to maintain accurate records and reports
- strong problem-solving and communication skills
- ability to follow safety protocols and use protective equipment
- strong organizational skills
- professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and associates
Job Duties
- perform interior and exterior preventive maintenance and repairs such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, boilers, chillers and HVAC
- respond promptly to elevator breakdowns
- maintain accurate maintenance records
- respond to and resolve engineering service requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner
- use engineering supplies and tools appropriately and properly
- maintain all engineering and work areas in orderly and clean condition
- report all emergencies, injuries, missing articles, damage, mechanical problems and safety hazards promptly to engineering management
- document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased
- attend department meetings as scheduled
- write shift reports on incidents including theft, accidents or injuries
- comply with policies and procedures and practice safe work habits
- perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
- participate in task forces and committees as requested
- report guest dissatisfaction or unusual matters to supervisor
- check with manager/supervisor before leaving work area
