The role of Maintenance Technician at Amrize North America Inc. is a crucial function responsible for keeping the plant's equipment in optimal working condition. This position requires expertise in performing regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs of a variety of mechanical equipment, systems, and machinery used in a heavy industrial setting. The Maintenance Technician will be tasked with conducting daily and weekly operating reports, as well as troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues efficiently. Working at this level also demands adherence to strict safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies, ensuring a safe workplace for all employees.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in minimizing production downtime and maintaining the reliability of crushers, conveyor belts, pulleys, pumps, screens, and screen bearings. Your responsibilities will include performing emergency repairs during plant breakdowns and conducting job safety analyses before starting any maintenance or repair work. This role typically requires overtime work and a solid mechanical aptitude. Candidates with experience in welding, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems will find this position highly rewarding. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years' experience in mechanical repair, installation, and construction in heavy industry
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanical aptitude and general plant maintenance
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment including respirators
  • Clean shaven where respirator seal meets the face for fit tests
  • Operating a skid steer or man lift is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years' experience in mechanical repair, installation, and construction in heavy industry
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanical aptitude and general plant maintenance
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proficient in hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems
  • Welding and fabrication skills highly desirable

Job Duties

  • Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on plant equipment by following the manufacturer's recommended service intervals and company procedures
  • Maintains an inventory of regularly required replacement parts
  • Inspects condition and operation of plant equipment and performs necessary repairs and adjustments
  • Reports required repairs or other findings to Supervisor
  • Performs required emergency repairs on production equipment required to address plant breakdowns
  • Adheres to all safety, environmental and company policies and procedures in completing daily tasks, and completes all required paperwork in a timely fashion
  • Routinely walk the plant to inspect mechanical equipment and parts and systems in need of repair or replacement
