Job Requirements

  • Must have three years of full-time, paid maintenance work experience
  • must possess a valid driver’s license
  • high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution required
  • must be able to respond to declared emergencies, including snow conditions, and work on an overtime basis regularly, including off tours, weekends, and holidays
  • must be able to apply for and maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Card and airfield DR2 driving privileges within three months of selection
  • all applicants must be qualified on a Port Authority Entry-Level Assessment (ESA) test prior to interview

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • minimum three years of full-time, paid maintenance work experience
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to schedule and supervise the work of subordinate staff
  • experience with managing contracts and/or contracted staff
  • demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • ability to prioritize workload and coordinate work with other supervisors and craft groups
  • knowledge of airport facility’s snow removal operation
  • knowledge of Port Authority policies and procedures, including various union contracts
  • knowledge of Maximo and Microsoft Office 365 functions

Job Duties

  • Directly supervise Port Authority maintenance employees and facility contracted personnel
  • serve as contract administrator overseeing janitorial service, refuse removal and recycling, off-airport policing, aeronautical sweeping, baggage system and passenger loading bridge contracts
  • evaluate the performance of contractors and recommend changes based upon performance and airport activity
  • direct the maintenance response and coordination during airport emergencies, including making staff notifications
  • serve as facility Duty Maintenance Supervisor during regular, off tours, and inclement weather conditions
