The Maintenance Porter position at Grand Pacific Resorts plays a critical role in maintaining the resort's visual appeal and functionality. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager, the Maintenance Porter is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the resort grounds and specific equipment. This role demands a responsible, detail-oriented individual who can work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be entrusted with inspecting, cleaning, repairing various resort amenities including area heaters, BBQ grills, gas and propane fire pits, and poolside furnishings. Besides regular maintenance, the porter ensures the resort's exterior spaces such as walkways and pool decks are power washed and kept pristine. Collaborating closely with maintenance technicians and other resort departments, the Maintenance Porter contributes significantly to enhanced guest satisfaction scores by maintaining a safe, clean, and inviting environment. Additionally, the role requires flexibility for working various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Job Requirements

  • Must be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • must be able to successfully pass applicable auditions or skill testing, background check, physical examination and drug screening test
  • ability to speak and understand the English language
  • must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours
  • must also be able to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • clear vision required for navigating office and resort buildings

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prioritize and organize work assignments
  • work with the maintenance staff to keep the area around the maintenance shop clean and organized
  • inspect, clean and repair area heaters
  • inspect, clean, repair and ensure all BBQs are in good working order
  • inspect, clean, repair all gas and propane fire pits
  • inspect, clean, repair and replace furnishings in pool areas
  • power wash walkways and pool decks as needed
  • work with other departments to keep the resort clean and free of trash
  • work with maintenance technicians on tickets and special projects
  • ensure all equipment is safe for guests and associates
  • increase guest satisfaction scores
  • assist with additional tasks or special projects as assigned by maintenance manager
  • maintain professional and ethical conduct
  • maintain consistent attendance record
  • adhere to performance standards and company policies
