Job Description
Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is a reputable aerospace manufacturer based in Cudahy, California. With over 30 years of experience serving the commercial aerospace, military, and industrial markets, CPP specializes in the production of highly engineered components and sub-assemblies. The company is known for providing a comprehensive "total solution" service, guiding customers from concept to finished product with one of the most diverse product offerings in the aerospace manufacturing industry. Their commitment to quality and precision has established them as an industry leader, supporting critical applications that demand reliability and technical excellence. The facility in Cudahy operates with a strong emphasis on safety, innovation, and teamwork, fostering a productive work environment for its employees.
The role of Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd Shift at CPP offers an excellent opportunity for skilled candidates looking to contribute to a growing company with a strong market presence. As a member of the maintenance team, this full-time position reports directly to the Operations Manager. The shift hours are from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, and candidates will benefit from a competitive hourly wage ranging between $27 and $31, dependent on experience, plus a $2.50 shift differential. This position also includes the possibility of heavy overtime, which can significantly enhance total earnings.
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a variety of equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Emphasis is placed on prioritizing safety-related work orders to maintain a secure workplace for all team members. The mechanic will perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance as well as emergency repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. Beyond routine maintenance, the role involves fabrication projects requiring skillful operation of lathes, mills, and welding equipment such as MIG and Stick welders.
Candidates must be capable of working flexible hours including overtime and weekends as needed to support production demands. This dedication is vital to sustaining the high standards of equipment readiness that CPP is known for. Additional responsibilities include using electrical testing equipment, standard mechanical hand tools, and leveraging experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), which are highly preferred skills for this role.
CPP is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, a 401(k) plan with employer match, paid vacation, sick time, holidays, and a quarterly bonus program. The company upholds a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, gender, or other protected statuses. Furthermore, due to ITAR regulations, applicants must be U.S. persons legally authorized to work in the United States permanently without company sponsorship.
This position does not include management duties, allowing candidates to focus on technical and hands-on responsibilities critical to the operation of the manufacturing facility. Joining CPP as a Maintenance Mechanic means becoming part of a supportive team dedicated to quality aerospace manufacturing and continuous improvement.
