Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year maintenance and/or housekeeping experience preferred
- valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- ability to perform basic plumbing, minor electrical, and equipment repairs
- ability to operate community vehicles and equipment safely
- ability to respond to emergency calls outside scheduled hours
- completion of required training and certifications
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant applications
- ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
- communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- commitment to team-based work and resident service
- pass pre-employment drug test
- participate in health screenings including tuberculosis test and physical evaluation
- comply with Covid-19 and influenza vaccination mandates as applicable
Job Qualifications
- One year maintenance and/or housekeeping experience preferred
- technical school education preferred
- general understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems and code compliance
- valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- ability to respond to emergency calls outside scheduled hours
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
- knowledge of OSHA/British Columbia Workers Compensation Act, fire prevention, and safety regulations
- ability to understand and follow safety procedures and regulations
- good judgment and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Responsible for completing all maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisor
- fix wall coverings
- fix floor coverings
- repair furniture and fixtures
- perform basic plumbing work
- perform minor electrical repairs
- repair appliances
- assist with painting and refurbishing projects
- perform minor building and equipment repairs
- conduct routine maintenance on all Sunrise vehicles as assigned
- maintain all tools and repair parts
- participate in fire drills and disaster preparedness
- assist with heating and air conditioning systems
- assist with work on domestic water systems and pumps
- assist with work on refrigeration systems, motors, fans, electrical systems, and emergency generators
- perform routine preventative maintenance
- perform carpet and hard surface floor maintenance
- perform deep cleaning and resident suite make ready rooms
- assist with housekeeping functions
- ensure community compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- practice safety procedures including PPE and Lockout Tagout
- manage hazards and maintain equipment to prevent accidents
- review building management platform documentation
- maintain positive resident relations and confidentiality
- assist in driving community vehicles and buses
- participate in team engagement and meetings
- maintain compliance with training
- perform other duties as assigned
