Job Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Pass required exam or test for acceptance into apprenticeship program
- Flexibility to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as scheduled
- Able to attain basic maintenance skills
- Able to attain basic computer skills
- Ability to work off ground level with proper safety training and safety equipment
- Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment

- Preferred experience in a bakery
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to attain basic maintenance skills
Job Duties
- Learn and develop all safety requirements, required mechanical, troubleshooting, communication and behavioral skillsets to function efficiently at minimum required qualified mechanic standards
- Successful completion of required coursework to develop required maintenance skillsets
- Learn to perform preventive maintenance on bakery equipment
- Assist in inspection and upkeep of machinery and equipment
- Learn to repair or replace components on motors, pumps, mixers, conveyor lines, ovens, coolers, etc
- Learn to inspect or replace belts, hoses, and drive components as needed
- Become proficient at completing and documenting work orders on equipment
- Ensure equipment in area is maintained, guarded and operated in accordance with defined safety regulations and procedures
- Understand levels of line downtime and waste caused by equipment issues and associated points of cause
- Proactively identify improvement focus areas
- Participate in root cause problem solving by team
- Identify potential cost savings and cost avoidance
- Encourage all associates to work in a safe manner and in accordance with defined safety regulations and procedures
