Job Requirements

  • Fluent in English
  • Pass required exam/test for acceptance into apprenticeship program
  • Flexibility to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as scheduled
  • Ability to attain basic maintenance skills
  • Ability to attain basic computer skills
  • Ability to work off ground level with proper safety training and equipment
  • Ability to work in non-air-conditioned environments
  • Preferred experience in a bakery environment

  • Completion of required apprenticeship program coursework
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to work off ground level with safety training
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Basic troubleshooting aptitude

Job Duties

  • Learn and develop safety requirements and mechanical skills to meet qualified mechanic standards
  • Complete required maintenance coursework successfully
  • Perform preventive maintenance on bakery equipment
  • Assist with machinery and equipment inspections and upkeep
  • Repair or replace components on motors, pumps, mixers, conveyor lines, ovens, and coolers
  • Inspect and replace belts, hoses, and drive components as necessary
  • Complete and document work orders accurately
  • Maintain equipment according to safety regulations and procedures
  • Understand and analyze causes of equipment downtime and waste
  • Identify areas for maintenance improvements
  • Participate in root cause problem-solving teams
  • Recommend potential cost savings and cost avoidance measures
  • Promote safe working practices among all associates
