Drivers are the face of Core-Mark, tasked not only with transporting goods but also with building and maintaining positive customer relationships. This role involves driving a tractor trailer or straight truck across intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive and drop routes. Drivers are responsible for conducting comprehensive pre and post-trip safety inspections of their vehicles to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards. They must report necessary repairs or safety issues promptly and adhere strictly to all DOT rules and internal company policies regarding safe driving. An important part of the role involves accurately documenting and processing paperwork relevant to freight, counting items, checking customer invoices, and securing goods during transit.

In addition to driving, this role requires drivers to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, offering timely responses to inquiries and representing Core-Mark positively. Drivers manage loading and unloading tasks, ensure products are securely loaded and undamaged, and handle returns and damaged goods in accordance with company procedures. The position also includes maintaining cleanliness and organization of the tractor-trailer and work area, securing equipment at shift’s end, and completing daily records of hours of service as mandated by federal and state regulations.

Core-Mark champions the safety, wellbeing, and career growth of its employees. The company offers competitive pay and benefits from day one, including health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off.
