The position is non-exempt and is compensated at a rate of $20.28 per hour for the school year 2025-2026. It involves no direct supervisory responsibilities but requires close coordination and reporting to the Food Service Manager and school principal.

The Lunchroom Manager is responsible for managing daily food service operations including food preparation, setup, sanitation, payment processes, student account management, parent communication, and inventory control. They ensure that USDA food storage standards and meal component requirements are met consistently. Maintaining fiscal integrity by verifying meal orders and completing accurate paperwork is also essential. The role requires collaboration with district food service personnel and positive interaction with school staff, students, and parents to uphold a high standard of service. Broader contributions include supporting the district's vision through responsible stewardship of resources and fostering a culture grounded in equity, care, professionalism, and community engagement.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for all aspects of the food service operation at the building level, including food prep, set-up, sanitation of all equipment and tables, process payments, student account management, parent communication, ordering, receiving, and inventory control
  • Ensure proper storage of all food in accordance with USDA requirements daily
  • Ensure each student tray contains proper required food components
  • Ensure all meals are accurately recorded
  • Assist with scheduling of employee work hours to ensure proper coverage for lunch
  • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the building program, verify only needed meals are ordered and served, complete all required paperwork timely and accurately, report all work-related problems or issues to the Food Services Manager
  • Maintain all communications with the Food Service Manager and District food service personnel
  • Accurately verify all student accounts as required
  • Interact positively and cooperatively with school staff, students, and parents
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Food Service Manager
