Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments
  • Must be a self-starter with a great personality and strong skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years previous food and beverage and management experience
  • Proven track record in training and developing staff in service delivery
  • Excellent wine knowledge
  • Working knowledge of style service
  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage outlet operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction
  • Decent skill in math using percentages and proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • Ability to remain calm and positive under pressure and deal graciously with stressful situations during busy periods

Job Duties

  • Support the restaurant general manager by interviewing, selecting, training, supervising, counseling and documenting staff when necessary for the efficient operation of the outlets
  • Institute ongoing training programs to ensure that the highest quality service standards are being obtained
  • Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes
  • Schedule, coach, and support staff in their work assignments
  • Interact positively with guests promoting hotel facilities and services
  • Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties
  • Provide support for the organization of special events in the restaurant
  • Maintain positive rapport with all departments and attend relevant meetings
  • Be present throughout the facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met
  • Partner with the kitchen leadership to provide feedback on the appearance and quality of products
  • Maintain profitability of outlet to support overall hotel operation
  • Control payroll and equipment costs minimizing loss and misuse
  • Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies and stocking shelves
  • Evaluate cost effectiveness of all aspects of operation
  • Develop and implement cost saving and profit enhancing measures
  • Utilize computer to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports and write correspondence
  • Input and retrieve data and change computer procedures using complex key punches to program system
