Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach with hands and arms
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments
- Must be a self-starter with a great personality and strong skills
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years previous food and beverage and management experience
- Proven track record in training and developing staff in service delivery
- Excellent wine knowledge
- Working knowledge of style service
- Thorough knowledge of food and beverage outlet operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques, and guest interaction
- Decent skill in math using percentages and proficiency in Excel
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy
- Ability to remain calm and positive under pressure and deal graciously with stressful situations during busy periods
Job Duties
- Support the restaurant general manager by interviewing, selecting, training, supervising, counseling and documenting staff when necessary for the efficient operation of the outlets
- Institute ongoing training programs to ensure that the highest quality service standards are being obtained
- Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes
- Schedule, coach, and support staff in their work assignments
- Interact positively with guests promoting hotel facilities and services
- Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties
- Provide support for the organization of special events in the restaurant
- Maintain positive rapport with all departments and attend relevant meetings
- Be present throughout the facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met
- Partner with the kitchen leadership to provide feedback on the appearance and quality of products
- Maintain profitability of outlet to support overall hotel operation
- Control payroll and equipment costs minimizing loss and misuse
- Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and retrieving supplies and stocking shelves
- Evaluate cost effectiveness of all aspects of operation
- Develop and implement cost saving and profit enhancing measures
- Utilize computer to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports and write correspondence
- Input and retrieve data and change computer procedures using complex key punches to program system
