The role of the Lounge Server at MGM Resorts' Excalibur property is a pivotal position within the food and beverage team. This role is essential in ensuring that guests receive timely and courteous beverage service in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Lounge Server, you will be responsible for efficiently expediting drink orders, maintaining cleanliness and organization of your service area, and providing outstanding customer service that reflects MGM Resorts’ dedication to excellence. This position requires thorough knowledge of various liquor brands, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, garnishes, and the ability to communicate effectively with bartenders and guests.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of relevant experience as a cocktail and or food server preferred
  • ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • successful completion of restaurant training program and testing
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • must be at least 21 years old

Job Qualifications

  • 6+ months of prior relevant experience as a cocktail and or food server in a similar environment preferred
  • knowledge of liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections
  • knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for drinks
  • ability to communicate effectively with bartenders and guests
  • customer service skills
  • ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Complete opening side duties such as folding and stacking cocktail napkins, stock swizzle sticks, straws, matches, line cocktail trays, stock glassware, restock supply cabinet, inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas, rectify any deficiencies
  • knowledge of liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available on the casino floor
  • knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink
  • communicate order into system through bartender, ensure transmission is verified
  • knowledge of hotel services and features as well as local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries
  • resolve guest complaints within scope of authority, otherwise refer the matter to management
  • notify supervisor and or security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft
  • successful completion of restaurant training program and testing is required
