The Porter role is an essential part of our dealership operations, designed to keep the lot, service areas, and vehicles in optimal condition. This position serves as a vital link between the Sales and Service departments by ensuring smooth traffic flow, impeccable vehicle presentation, and high levels of customer service. The individual in this role will be responsible for moving inbound and outbound vehicles safely, washing cars, assisting customers with inquiries, and supporting various dealership functions. Operating under the guidance of management, the Porter plays a critical role in contributing to the overall profitability and reputation of the dealership by delivering attentive service and maintaining an orderly and attractive vehicle display.
This is a full-time position that typically requires 40 to 50 hours per week and involves physical tasks such as bending, standing for long periods, lifting more than 25 lbs, and working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions. The successful candidate must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record, demonstrating their ability to operate vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions safely. With a strong focus on efficiency and safety, the Porter will help facilitate the delivery, check-in, and inspection processes for new car arrivals as well as dealer trades. Other responsibilities include making key tags, cataloging and storing keys, and managing the vehicle delivery process, including handling delivery boards and gas slips.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Good communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Good judgement
- Physical ability to bend, stand for long periods, and lift over 25 lbs
- Willingness to work 40-50 hours per week

Job Qualifications
- Able to operate both automatic and manual transmissions

- Minimum of 18 years old with a current, valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to bend, kneel, walk or stand for long periods of time in all types of weather
Job Duties
- Moving vehicles in the service drive and sales lot to maintain traffic flow and display standards
- Maintain an orderly parking area, sales lot, service lane, and showroom appearance
- Wash customer and dealership vehicles as needed
- Assist customers with questions and direct them to the appropriate personnel
- Moving cars as directed in accordance with dealership display standards
- Clean driveway and sidewalks, removing debris as necessary
- Drive vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed
- Make key tags for vehicles
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Provide support to management and other departments as directed
- Oversee vehicle delivery process including managing delivery boards and gas slips
- Assist with new car check-ins, inspections, and dealer trades
- Compare serial numbers of incoming vehicles against invoices
- Catalog and store keys
- Make key tags for vehicles
