The Lot Porter position at Camping World is an integral part of the customer-facing team, responsible for maintaining the quality and presentation of RV units on the lot. This role requires an individual who can efficiently manage the movement, organization, and maintenance of RVs to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and coworkers alike. The Lot Porter will handle various operational tasks such as parking and relocating RVs, installing and removing window prices, washing units, and performing routine inspections. Candidates in this role must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions carefully to uphold the company’s high standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Towing experience preferred
  • Ability to use yard tractor and/or forklift
  • Ability to drive an RV
  • Experience using generators and operating slide-outs
  • Ability to repair small items and identify problem units
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • May lift up to 25 lbs and/or move up to 50 lbs with assistive devices
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crawling, and bending
  • Exposure to heights and hazards related to working with electrical and welding equipment
  • Environmental conditions include heat, cold, humidity, noise, dust and wetness

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Park and move RV units in a timely fashion
  • Ensure window prices on recreational vehicles are installed and removed as instructed
  • Maintain weekly lot washes and ensure all units and isles are clean
  • Write work orders, track problems and ensure units are in proper working order
  • Sweep, pick up trash and debris, empty garbage cans, keep lot clean and professional in appearance
  • Keep units and equipment secure from weather
  • Maintain physical inventory on a weekly basis
  • Ensure slide-outs are in, jacks are down, steps are down, select awnings are opened and the doors are unlocked
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and coworkers
