Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated and dependable Lot Porter to join our dynamic team. This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.02 to $28.71, reflecting factors such as skills, experience, and certifications. The Lot Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and presentation of our RV inventory on the lot. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and moving recreational vehicles safely and promptly while maintaining a clean, organized, and professional lot environment. They will perform a variety of essential duties including parking, moving, and inspecting RV units, as well as maintaining weekly lot washes and ensuring proper signage and information display on vehicles.

In this role, the Lot Porter will also be responsible for securing equipment and vehicles against weather conditions, conducting routine physical inventory checks, and ensuring all safety and operational protocols are followed. The responsibilities further extend to keeping the sales lot free of debris, managing waste disposal, and providing support to the service team by writing work orders and tracking maintenance issues. Candidates will need to demonstrate proficiency in operating yard tractors, forklifts, and driving RVs, along with basic repair and problem-identification skills for various units and equipment. This job requires physical stamina, as it involves lifting, prolonged standing, and exposure to varying weather conditions.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid driver’s license required
  • towing experience preferred
  • ability to drive an RV
  • ability to use yard tractor and/or forklift
  • experience using generators and operating slide-outs
  • ability to repair small items and identify problem units
  • may lift up to 25 lbs and/or move up to 50 lbs with assistive devices
  • prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crawling, and bending
  • exposure to heights and hazards related to working with electrical and welding equipment
  • environmental conditions include heat, cold, humidity, noise, dust and wetness

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Park and move RV units in a timely fashion
  • ensure window prices on recreational vehicles are installed and removed as instructed
  • maintain weekly lot washes and ensure all units and aisles are clean
  • write work orders, track problems and ensure units are in proper working order
  • sweep, pick up trash and debris, empty garbage cans, keep lot clean and professional in appearance
  • keep units and equipment secure from weather
  • maintain physical inventory on a weekly basis
  • ensure slide-outs are in, jacks are down, steps are down, select awnings are opened and the doors are unlocked
  • maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and coworkers
