The Logistics Procurement Manager role at Amrize is pivotal in spearheading the strategy and execution of road transportation procurement across multiple modes such as less-than-truckload (LTL), full truckload (FTL), flatbed, small parcel, pneumatic bulk tankers, end dump trucks, and side dump trucks. This position demands a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail who can effectively analyze complex data, negotiate contracts, and implement cost-saving initiatives to enhance the company’s transportation network. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening relationships with carriers, developing and executing sourcing strategies, and driving improvements in service quality, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
This role includes managing extensive transportation spend, offering exposure to cross-modal integration, and providing opportunities to innovate within a growing organization. In addition to leading procurement initiatives, the Logistics Procurement Manager will oversee freight audit and payment systems to ensure accuracy, collaborate with logistics operations and sales teams to align transportation capacity with business demand, and promote a culture of safety adhering to all health, safety, and environmental policies. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of equivalent experience
- 7+ years of road transportation management experience including LTL, FTL, flatbed, parcel, or specialized trucking
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Experience with freight audit and payment systems, predictive analytics, and sustainability practices
- Advanced data analysis skills in Excel, Tableau, Power BI
- Knowledge of Python or R is a plus
- Deep knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, HOS, and hazmat compliance
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of approved Personal Protection Equipment including respirators
- Must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of equivalent experience
- Preferred field of study includes supply chain, logistics, business, or related field
- Advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience in road transportation management including LTL, FTL, flatbed, parcel, or specialized trucking
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Experience with freight audit and payment systems, predictive analytics, and sustainability practices
- Advanced data analysis skills in Excel, Tableau, Power BI
- Python or R knowledge is a plus
- Deep knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, HOS, and hazmat compliance
- Excellent communication skills with strong executive presence
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
Job Duties
- Develop and execute road transportation sourcing strategies for LTL, FTL, flatbed, parcel, and bulk trucking
- Lead carrier negotiations, securing competitive rates, fuel surcharge structures, and favorable contract terms
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through benchmarking, lane analysis, and backhaul optimization
- Oversee freight audit and payment systems to ensure accuracy and accountability
- Collaborate with logistics operations and sales teams to align transportation capacity with business demand
- Improve network efficiency through backhaul mapping, load consolidation, and carrier diversification
- Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies and promote a culture of safety
