Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain management, sales or related area, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • 1-3+ years of logistics, transportation, trucking, and/or supply chain experience
  • must have general understanding of brokerage operations and geographic freight markets
  • prior demonstration of negotiation skills preferred
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • strong organization, multi-tasking, problem-solving and follow through skills
  • must be detail-oriented and able to meet scheduled deadlines
  • basic knowledge of supply chain terminology and concepts to support supply chain process from source to end customer
  • ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel)
  • experience with a transportation management system preferred (e.g., McLeod TMS)
  • must be able to participate in on-call rotation

Job Duties

  • Act as the primary contact for assigned intercompany account(s) to provide logistics solutions, coordinate communication between various internal and external contacts (i.e., Account Management, Operations, vendors, etc.), ensure customer service expectations are met, and to meet operational and key performance indicators (i.e., operating revenue, sales, maximize logistics planning, etc.)
  • act as point of contact for escalation of issues for assigned accounts
  • respond to inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • coordinate resources to resolve issues as necessary and to implement solutions to address customer concerns and to provide positive impact to account performance
  • partner with cross functional departments to provide diverse services to align customer business needs to Company services
  • schedule and lead business review and customer meetings with cross-functional teams, vendors and customers
  • prepare meeting materials to review KPI's and identify opportunities related to product delivery to include on-time scheduled deliveries and capacity
  • ensure accurate data capture, data integrity and system entry in all customer related functions
  • assist with development department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other account metrics, and partner with operations management to utilize such data to meet customer and Company expectations
  • partner with logistics analysts to understand performance drivers and utilize the business metrics to improve supply chain's performance
  • analyze data for trends that impact the customer's business and prepare and present KPI reports and other customer data as needed
  • review and establish contract pricing for customers, and monitor rate exceptions on a regular basis
  • participate in the annual account planning and budgeting process
  • review on an ongoing basis, and make adjustments as necessary
  • maintain and develop effective working relationships with key customer contacts and cross-functional departments
  • provide training and guidance to lesser experienced logistics account team members
  • support Accounts Receivables with collections of past due invoices for assigned customer(s)
  • participate in the on-call support rotation and respond to any issues that arise in a timely manner
  • maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best Supply Chain/Logistics practices
  • make recommendations to improve current programs and processes
  • additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
