Job Description

Omaha Track, Inc. is a distinguished supplier within the railroad industry, recognized for its comprehensive offerings that span materials, railroad services, equipment, and terminal services. With a commitment to excellence and quality, Omaha Track has established itself as a pivotal player dedicated to enhancing railroad infrastructure and operations. The company prides itself on fostering a culture focused on safety, reliability, and career growth, making it an attractive employer for individuals seeking stable, year-round employment within the transportation sector.

The role of Local CDL Class A Driver at Omaha Track is integral to the company’s operations, specifically supporting their Chicago Heights rail yard. This position is designed for drivers who value steady work with a schedule that allows them to be home every day. Drivers take on local routes with primarily Monday through Friday shifts, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic with no regular weekend driving duties. Earning potential is competitive, with weekly wages exceeding $1,500, reflecting the company’s dedication to rewarding skilled and dependable drivers.

As a Local CDL Class A Driver, candidates are entrusted with the safe and efficient transportation of railroad materials and equipment between various company facilities, customer sites, rail yards, and job locations within the local area. Operating a range of tractor-trailer combinations—including flatbeds, pole trailers, and end dump trailers—drivers contribute directly to the smooth functioning of yard operations. Safety is paramount; emphasizing adherence to railroad safety protocols and company job briefing procedures.

Beyond the operational responsibilities, this role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to maintain equipment standards through regular inspections and cleanliness. Maintaining clear communication with dispatch and transportation leadership ensures responsiveness and operational fluidity. This opportunity is ideal for experienced CDL drivers seeking a stable local driving role where safety and professionalism are priorities, coupled with the advantage of a consistent schedule and modern, safety-focused equipment.

Omaha Track encourages candidates who meet the stringent requirements to apply and become part of a respected team that values safety, quality, and long-term employee growth. The company is an equal opportunity employer, underscoring its commitment to diversity and inclusion across its workforce.
