In the role of Local Delivery Driver based in San Antonio, TX, you will be a vital part of this professional and safety-driven team. The role involves delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers using modern, well-equipped company trucks that include advanced safety features like collision avoidance technology and GPS navigation.
The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely loading, delivering, unloading, and returning compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with customers to ensure satisfaction and service quality. Beyond driving, the role includes supporting warehouse operations as needed, maintaining accurate delivery records, and complying with all relevant safety standards and government regulations, including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA guidelines.

Job Requirements
- Must have a valid TX Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Must possess a valid Medical Examiner's Card
- Hazmat and Airbrake Certifications required
- Minimum one year of Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five years or equivalent driving school diploma plus experience
- Clean driving record with no more than two convictions or at-fault accidents as specified
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must be physically capable of lifting heavy cylinders and handling hazardous cargo
- Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours with frequent bending
Job Qualifications
- Valid TX Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Valid Medical Examiner's Card
- Hazmat and Airbrake Certifications
- Minimum of one year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five years or a diploma from an accredited driving school with a minimum of one year of driving experience in the last five years
- Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
- Capability to lift 25-75 lbs routinely and occasionally lift over 125 lbs with equipment
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Job Duties
- Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations
- Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt
- Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling
- Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA
- Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed
- Maintain communication with dispatch and respond to customer inquiries professionally
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the delivery vehicle
