The role of Local Delivery Driver - CDL A with Hazmat at the Airgas retail shop in Buda, TX, offers a unique opportunity to be the "face of Airgas" by safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders and related products to local and regional business customers. This position involves using modern straight or box trucks equipped with advanced technology such as onboard computers, collision avoidance systems, cameras, and GPS navigation. The driver will manage the loading, delivery, unloading, and return of compressed gas cylinders, and often interact directly with customers, providing a critical service that supports both the operational success of Airgas and the satisfaction of its customers.

This role supports work-life balance with a Monday to Friday day shift schedule, paying $28 per hour and including bonus potential. The delivery driver is more than just a driver – they are an essential part of the Airgas team, contributing to both the company’s safety standards and customer service excellence. Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A commercial driver’s license
  • Valid medical examiner’s card
  • Hazmat and airbrake certifications
  • Minimum one year professional driving experience within last five years or equivalent
  • Clean driving record with limited convictions and at-fault accidents
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Ability to lift 25-75 pounds and occasionally over 125 pounds with equipment
  • Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to work independently under pressure
  • Must be able to obtain forklift operator certification
  • Must be at least 21 years old

Job Qualifications

  • Clean driving record with limited convictions and at-fault accidents

  • Forklift operator certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours
  • Must be at least 21 years old

Job Duties

  • Safely load, deliver, and unload compressed gas cylinders at customer locations
  • Accurately record deliveries and pickups, obtaining customer signatures
  • Collect and return empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders to branch or plant
  • Adhere to all Airgas safety standards and government regulations
  • Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed
