Job Description
PepsiCo is a global leader in the food and beverage industry, renowned for its iconic brands and commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability. With a diversified portfolio that spans snacks, beverages, and nutrition products, PepsiCo serves millions of consumers worldwide. The company focuses on delivering top-quality products while minimizing its environmental impact and promoting community well-being. As an employer, PepsiCo is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment where employees have opportunities to grow, develop skills, and contribute to meaningful outcomes. This position offers a full-time employment opportunity with a competitive hourly wage of $28.15, reflecting the company's commitment to fair compensation and a supportive workplace.
The role of Relief Delivery Driver at PepsiCo is critical in maintaining uninterrupted service to various retail customers, including convenience stores, gas stations, small supermarkets, and drug stores. Relief Drivers fill in for regular delivery drivers who are unavailable due to factors such as vacation or illness, ensuring that product delivery schedules remain on track. Given the dynamic nature of this role, Relief Drivers can expect day-to-day variability in assigned routes, requiring adaptability and strong organizational skills. They operate delivery vehicles across a variety of weather conditions and are responsible for unloading products, stocking shelves, and setting up promotional displays such as pricing signs and banners. The position demands physical strength and stamina, as it involves repeated lifting and moving of cases weighing between 20 and 45 pounds, as well as reaching, squatting, and bending while merchandising products at customer locations.
Relief Delivery Drivers at PepsiCo also have important customer service responsibilities, including establishing positive working relationships with store management and ensuring all scheduled customers are serviced by the end of each shift. Drivers handle invoicing and are responsible for the daily settlement of cash and charges, requiring attention to detail and integrity. Safety is a core priority for this role, with strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety protocols. Effective communication skills are necessary, particularly in English, to interact with customers and manage route details.
This demanding, labor-intensive position requires reliable and predictable attendance, as consistent presence is vital to support the delivery network. PepsiCo offers comprehensive training and encourages employees to gain experience in operating delivery vehicles, merchandising products, and using equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks. Candidates with previous CDL experience and merchandising skills will find this role well-suited to their talents. PepsiCo is an equal opportunity employer and embraces diversity across all levels of its workforce. The company complies with all applicable laws related to fair hiring practices and is committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination. The Relief Delivery Driver position is a rewarding opportunity for individuals seeking a stable full-time job with a reputable company, competitive wages, and a chance to contribute to the success of a global brand.
