This job listing is for a Local Delivery Driver position in Rochester, NY, requiring a valid Class A or B CDL license. The role is part of the first shift schedule under requisition number 29883. The position’s pay range is $24.88 to $36.49 per hour. As a delivery driver, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of Linde’s industrial products to customers, typically completing an average of 10 to 12 stops each day. The role involves not only driving but also physically handling freight, completing necessary documentation such as shipping orders for hazardous materials, and providing excellent customer service. In addition to delivering products, you will be responsible for conducting vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting maintenance needs, and adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for hazardous materials.

Building strong relationships with both internal teams and customers is an essential part of this role. You will continuously expand your understanding of Linde’s business operations to contribute to the company’s growth and success. The position requires a combination of driving skills, attention to detail, physical stamina, and commitment to safety standards. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of consecutive driving experience or recent completion of a truck driving school, and a hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire. Additional requirements include no preventable accidents or serious violations in the past two years, no alcohol-related offenses in the last decade, the ability to pass a DOT physical exam, and the capability to lift at least 75 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past two years
  • No alcohol-related convictions within the last ten years
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
  • Valid Class A or B CDL
  • Hazmat endorsement or must obtain within 60 days of hire
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 75 pounds
  • Two years of consecutive driving experience or recent truck driving certification

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Deliver products to customers making 10-12 stops per day while handling freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service
  • Accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
  • Complete hazardous material shipping orders in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Identify and report the need for vehicle repairs and maintenance
  • Build relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet business goals
  • Continuously build knowledge of Linde’s business operations to support organizational growth
