Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is currently seeking a Local Delivery Driver with a Class A or B CDL license to join their dynamic and safety-focused team in Harlingen, TX. This position plays a vital role in the company's distribution operations by ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders, hard goods, and other associated products to local customer locations. The Local Delivery Driver position involves following a computer-generated route that typically includes making 10 to 12 stops per day, handling loading and unloading tasks at client sites, and performing paperwork in compliance with transportation and safety regulations.

This role requires a physically active individual who can safely manage products and operate delivery vehicles while maintaining excellent customer service standards at every point of interaction. Drivers will conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, report any maintenance needs, and complete hazardous material shipping documentation in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. The Local Delivery Driver will also build strong relationships with customers and internal teams alike, contributing to meeting the company's business objectives and driving continued growth.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid Class A or B CDL
  • Two years of consecutive driving experience or certification from an accredited Truck Driving School
  • Ability to obtain Hazmat Endorsement within 60 days if not currently held
  • No preventable accidents license suspensions or moving violations in past two years
  • No alcohol related convictions within last 10 years
  • Pass a DOT physical and obtain medical certificate
  • Must be able to push pull move and/or lift a minimum of 75 pounds
  • Read and write in English
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Effective organizational listening and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Deliver products to customers by making an average of 10-12 stops per day while touching freight completing paperwork and providing excellent customer service
  • Accurately count and record the quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
  • Complete hazardous material shipping orders papers in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
  • Build both relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet goals and objectives of the business and customer needs
  • Continuously build knowledge on how Linde's business operates and succeeds to help organization to continue growing
  • Perform other duties as assigned
