The Local Delivery Driver (CDL A) role based in Tucson, AZ, is a vital position within Linde's distribution operations. This role entails responsible delivery of products directly to customers, typically making 10-12 stops per day. The position involves handling freight, completing necessary paperwork, and providing exemplary customer service consistently. A key part of the job is accurately counting and recording product quantities and styles during deliveries and pickups while following all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, especially regarding hazardous materials shipping documentation. The driver will conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and report any identified maintenance or repair needs. Building strong relationships with customers and internal teams is essential to meet business goals and customer demands effectively. The position also encourages continuous learning about Linde’s operations and business strategy to contribute meaningfully to the company’s growth.
Employment in this role requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazmat endorsement or the willingness to obtain one within 60 days of hire. Candidates must be at least 21 years old with two years of consecutive driving experience or a recent certification from a Truck Driving School. Safety is paramount; therefore, applicants should have no preventable accidents or moving violations in the past two years and no alcohol-related convictions within the last decade. Physical capability to lift at least 75 pounds is necessary due to the manual handling of freight. The role includes a DOT physical and medical certification requirement.
Linde offers a competitive compensation package featuring comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and vacation, an employee discount program, and opportunities for professional development and growth. The company fosters a workplace culture where employees are empowered to make a broad impact within their careers, communities, and the environment. Linde supports diversity and inclusion and offers equal consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Employees can expect a dynamic and supportive environment where their work contributes to global sustainability and technological advancement.
