Job Description
Quality Custom Distribution Services LLC (QCD), established in 2006, is a leading custom last-mile distribution company specializing in tailored logistics solutions for the foodservice industry. As a subsidiary of Golden State Foods (GSF), QCD plays a vital role in serving thousands of restaurants across the United States with efficiency and reliability. Headquartered in Frisco, Texas, QCD operates through 25 strategically located distribution centers and provides over 37,000 deliveries weekly. With a fleet that drives more than 40 million miles annually, QCD is committed to excellence not only in delivery but also in fostering a culture of community involvement through the GSF Foundation, a national non-profit organization.
QCD is more than just a distribution company; it is a career-building establishment dedicated to growing its workforce by offering stable and high-earning opportunities within the logistics and foodservice sectors. The company emphasizes a people-first culture rooted in core values such as respect, integrity, high standards, and doing the right thing. Employees at all levels, whether behind the scenes or on the road, contribute directly to the company’s mission of keeping America’s favorite restaurants well-stocked and operational. QCD provides clear career advancement paths supported by comprehensive training and development programs that help associates progress from entry-level positions to leadership roles within the larger Golden State Foods family.
The Local CDL Driver role at QCD embodies the heartbeat of the company's supply chain. This role is ideal for drivers seeking a stable career with a good earning potential while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The position involves operating diesel-powered tractor-trailers on local routes with no layovers, ensuring drivers return home daily. Drivers handle packaged chicken, beef, or pork products, delivering with precision and care through an average of 10 to 15 stops each day. This 24/7 operation requires drivers to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a dedicated team. Typical schedules are four days a week with the possibility of a fifth, and shifts range from 12 to 14 hours per day.
QCD provides competitive pay structured by component that varies depending on the client and route. Average annual earnings range from $88,000 to $130,000, with compensation based on set route pay or mileage and cases delivered. Additional hourly pay during training, for holidays, and for sick or personal time enhances overall compensation. Drivers may also receive shift differentials, overtime, or incentive pay as applicable. Benefits include health insurance, dental and vision coverage, disability plans, voluntary insurance options, 401(k) retirement savings, paid time off, and employee assistance programs that support wellness and work-life balance. The company supplies uniforms and work shoes, furthering its commitment to employee comfort and professionalism.
Working at QCD means joining a dynamic team where your contributions drive success daily. As a QCD driver, you are a key member of the foodservice supply chain, ensuring timely deliveries that keep restaurants supplied with fresh products. With state-of-the-art equipment, training, and a supportive culture, QCD values its drivers as vital to its success and offers a career path where growth and development opportunities are always within reach. This role is perfect for motivated, safety-conscious drivers who value home time, steady earnings, and the chance to thrive in a values-driven workplace. If you want to be part of a company that not only values its people but also fosters a spirit of shared success and community involvement, QCD is the right place for you.
