Job Description
The Dolomite Group, a CRH Company, has been a cornerstone of the construction materials industry since its founding in 1920. With over 100 years of expertise, Dolomite has grown into the preferred supplier of construction aggregates, hot mix asphalt, and ready-mix concrete throughout the Greater Rochester Region and the Southern Tier. The company prides itself on delivering high-quality products supported by a strong culture of safety and the unwavering dedication of its workforce. Dolomite's history and commitment to excellence have earned it a trusted reputation in the construction sector, making it an employer of choice for individuals seeking a challenging, stable, and rewarding career in this thriving industry.
This role is for a Local CDL Mixer Driver based in Rochester, New York. The position involves operating concrete mixer trucks to deliver ready-mixed concrete to local sites within the Greater Rochester Area and surrounding regions. Compensation ranges from $25 to $30 per hour depending on experience, reflecting the value Dolomite places on skilled drivers. This role offers paid time off and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, as well as a retirement package. Drivers in this position are vital to maintaining the quality and timely delivery of construction materials — a critical component of many construction projects.
As a Local CDL Mixer Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating mixer trucks, ensuring that concrete is delivered in optimal condition to various job sites. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections according to Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines to uphold safety standards and vehicle maintenance. Maintaining cleanliness and proper washing of the mixer between and after deliveries is also an essential part of maintaining equipment and product quality.
This role requires the ability to work independently, make sound decisions on the job, and consistently display a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, supervisors, and customers. Adherence to company safety procedures is paramount to ensure the well-being of all personnel and the success of daily operations. Experience with GPS navigation, reading maps, and following delivery routes is necessary to maintain efficiency and timely deliveries. The role also demands physical capabilities such as lifting chutes up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders as needed.
Dolomite, as part of the CRH family, offers an inclusive and supportive culture that values upward growth, professional development, and internal promotion. Being part of CRH means working within a decentralized, diversified structure that combines the environment of a small company with the expansive career opportunities of a large international organization. Employees enjoy competitive pay, a comprehensive benefits package, health and wellness programs, and a culture that emphasizes opportunity and growth.
If you are a qualified CDL driver seeking a career with an established leader in the construction materials industry, this opportunity with Dolomite Products Co., a CRH Company, represents a rewarding and stable position where you can contribute meaningfully to local construction projects, grow professionally, and enjoy excellent compensation and benefits.
