The role of a Local CDL-B Delivery Driver at FreshPoint in Hartford, CT, offers an exciting career path for individuals who value being home daily, delivering critical goods within regional routes, and contributing to the smooth operation of foodservice supply chains. Drivers at FreshPoint handle daily routes characterized by frequent stops, requiring meticulous organization and a keen eye for timeliness and safety. The role involves loading packages onto hand trucks, unloading products at each stop, and following designated routes outlined by the Transportation Department Manager. Drivers may also be involved in the cross-dock model process, which includes picking up loaded trucks from nightly deliveries at assigned loading docks and returning empty trucks to designated lots.
With competitive compensation offering up to $72,000 annually based on experience and performance, coupled with comprehensive benefits such as retirement plans, healthcare from the first eligibility date, paid vacation, holidays, and employee discounts, the position aligns well for drivers seeking stability, rewarding work, and the chance to grow within a reputable organization. The role requires physical endurance to handle freight up to 100 pounds repeatedly and flexibility, including overtime and weekend work as needed to meet business demands.
FreshPoint, through this position, aims to recruit knowledgeable, hard-working individuals who possess valid CDL Class A or B licenses with clean driving records, essential driving experience especially in urban environments including New York City, and proficiency in English for effective communication. Drivers must also be willing to undergo background checks and drug screening, adhering to high professional and safety standards. Shift schedules provide early start times and a workweek schedule designed to maintain work-life balance, allowing drivers to be home each evening. Joining this team means becoming part of a supportive and growth-oriented company where your efforts directly impact the foodservice success in the Hartford region and beyond.
