Sysco is known for its commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and career growth for its employees. FreshPoint is now hiring Local CDL-B Delivery Drivers in Hartford, Connecticut, offering a rewarding opportunity to join a respected company with a strong industry presence and a supportive work environment.
This position offers local delivery routes with the advantage of being home daily, which is ideal for individuals seeking a balanced work-life schedule. Drivers can expect to earn an average minimum pay of $65,000 per year with the potential to earn up to $72,000, depending on performance and experience. Comprehensive benefits are offered, including healthcare starting shortly after hire, retirement benefits, paid vacation, holidays, and employee discounts, further enhancing the overall compensation package. This role is specifically tailored for candidates seeking consistent employment with a reputable company that values safety, professionalism, and customer service.
The role of the Local CDL-B Delivery Driver at FreshPoint is crucial to maintaining smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Drivers will operate daily routes that involve frequent stops, requiring them to load packages onto hand trucks and unload products at various delivery points. They will follow routes assigned by the Transportation Department Manager and ensure timely and accurate deliveries. The job follows a cross-dock model where drivers pick up pre-loaded trucks from the assigned loading docks and return empty trucks to the lot at the end of their shift.
In addition to driving duties, occasional assistance with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other tasks may be required as directed by supervisors or managers. This role demands physical strength and stamina as drivers regularly handle freight weighing between 40 and 60 pounds, with occasional loads up to 100 pounds. Candidates must have the flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs, and be comfortable driving in urban areas such as New York City.
FreshPoint offers shifts from Tuesday to Saturday or Monday to Friday with early morning start times between 12:00 AM and 3:00 AM. The work schedule supports drivers getting home in time for dinner with routes approximately 10 hours long. The company fosters a culture of respect, opportunity, and employee growth, ensuring every team member can develop professionally while making significant contributions to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. By joining FreshPoint, drivers become part of a dynamic organization that values dedication, reliability, and skill – providing a platform for a fulfilling and stable career in the foodservice industry.
