Job Description

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a premier U.S. supplier specializing in industrial, medical, and specialty gases. It also provides hardgoods and related safety products and has established itself as one of the largest suppliers of ammonia products and process chemicals in the United States. With a workforce of approximately 18,000 associates, Airgas fosters a robust culture of safety, sustainability, customer success, and innovation across its operations. It operates as a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader present in 60 countries, employing about 66,500 people and serving over 4 million customers. This global footprint affords Airgas a worldwide scope yet a local commitment to its customer and employee base. The company prides itself on empowering its associates to share ideas, take initiatives, and make decisions, creating an engaging and inclusive work environment that values diversity and individual contributions.

This job opening for a CDL A Driver is located in North Hollywood, CA at a Vanowen retail shop. The position is designed to provide an excellent work-life balance, allowing drivers to be home every night, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work. Shift hours begin in the morning and end in the late afternoon. The compensation offers competitive pay at $30 per hour, which varies based on experience, plus monthly bonus opportunities. Additionally, there is a $1000 referral bonus available. This position is ideal for individuals seeking steady employment with regular hours that accommodate family and social commitments.

The role of the Local CDL A Driver at Airgas is centered on delivering compressed gas cylinders and supplies safely and efficiently to local and regional business customers. Drivers use company-provided tractor trailers, straight trucks, or box trucks to perform their duties. As the public face of Airgas, drivers play a vital role in customer satisfaction, embodying professionalism and courteous service. The job includes loading and unloading gas cylinders, performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, safely strapping and unstrapping cylinders, and making timely deliveries. The position is physically demanding, with an emphasis on lifting heavy loads (regularly lifting 75 pounds and moving more than 125 pounds with equipment), and frequent vehicle exit to deliver cylinders on customer properties, often using hand carts.

Safety is a high priority at Airgas, and they require drivers to hold a valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT and Airbrake endorsements. Candidates must maintain appropriate licensing and comply with drug-free workplace policies. A clean driving record within defined limits is required, and the role demands the ability to work conscientiously to provide excellent customer service while adhering to strict safety standards.

Working at Airgas offers more than just a paycheck. Full-time employees enjoy comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, paid vacation, sick leave, floating holidays, and paid holidays. The company also supports new parents with a progressive parental leave policy and offers a 401k plan with company matching, tuition reimbursement, discounted college tuition for employees’ dependents, and a scholarship program. Airgas embraces diversity and inclusion as core to its identity and mission, creating a supportive environment where employees’ differences enhance performance and innovation.
