Established in 1893, The Pfister Hotel has stood as a beacon of gracious service and impeccable style for nearly 130 years, embodying a legacy of elegance that continues to attract visitors from around the world. Renowned as one of the premier hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, The Pfister has proudly maintained the prestigious AAA Four Diamond status for 46 consecutive years, reflecting its unwavering commitment to excellence. This honor places The Pfister among the elite group of only 11 properties throughout North America to sustain this distinguished rating since its inception in 1976.
As a part-time Bartender at The Pfister's Lobby Lounge, you will immerse yourself in a classic and elegant lounge environment where every detail matters. Your role will be pivotal in delivering unforgettable guest experiences through the art of handcrafted cocktails and engaging service. You will be responsible for mixing and serving drinks with precision, creativity, and professionalism, ensuring each beverage reflects the high standards synonymous with The Pfister. This position offers an hourly wage of $14.01 and includes a wealth of benefits and opportunities for growth within Marcus Hotels & Resorts.
The role demands an individual passionate about the craft of bartending, with the ability to multitask and provide warm, inviting service in a fast-paced, high-volume lounge setting. You will set up and maintain the bar daily, ensuring all supplies, from beer and wine to spirits and garnishes, are perfectly stocked. Consistency and attention to detail are paramount as you mix and present drinks following standard recipes and portion control guidelines. Each guest interaction offers a chance to create a memorable experience by greeting guests warmly, accurately taking and documenting orders, and processing payments with precision.
You will operate the point-of-sale system efficiently, produce checks for accountability, and handle cash transactions with strong cash handling and self-banking skills. Additionally, you will maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar space and comply with all relevant state, federal, and corporate liquor laws to guarantee responsible alcohol service. Addressing guest requests and complaints with professionalism and escalating issues when necessary are also key aspects of the position. This role is designed to support not just the bar area but also the overall hotel's operational success.
