Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one plus years of experience as a Barback in a high volume, upscale hotel or free standing lounge environments
  • ability to perform physical tasks including standing, stooping, bending, and lifting repeatedly throughout shifts
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • ability to attend all required training sessions and meetings
  • strong teamwork and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of wine and spirits and food
  • polite, friendly and helpful to guests, management and fellow employees
  • exceptional guest service skills
  • ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift items up to 50 pounds repetitively during entire shift
  • certifications such as Certified Food Service Manager, TIPS or equivalent
  • effective leadership, management, organizational and communication skills
  • ability to speak, read and write English
  • ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Assure that all bars are kept in proper working conditions
  • provide all supplies needed for bar prior and during all functions and events as per Beverage Supervisor and Captain request
  • restock any and all beverages after all functions
  • provide support to the bartender and beverage server by stocking all service areas and maintaining supplies throughout the shift
  • clean and stock all glassware
  • assist with service of beverages
  • transport food trays to and from dining room
  • participate in monthly inventory
  • stock and maintain supplies in all service areas
  • inspect and prepare all service ware prior to use
  • assist server by removing soiled glasses and plates during heavy volume
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitary condition of lounge and service areas
  • assist in completion of post shift clean up and side work duties
  • maintain clean and organized storage space
  • attend all training sessions and meetings
  • monitor guest consumption to prevent over indulgence
  • perform monthly beverage inventories
  • notify supervisors promptly of any problems
  • comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards
