Renaissance Baton Rouge is currently seeking a full-time overnight Public Space House Person to join its dedicated team. This pivotal role centers on maintaining impeccable cleanliness and orderliness throughout the hotel’s lobby areas, public restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and other communal spaces. The Public Space House Person plays an essential role in upholding the hotel’s standards of excellence by performing routine and specialized cleaning tasks that ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all guests and staff. This position requires individuals who are attentive, friendly, courteous, and proactive in their duties, reflecting the hotel’s high standards of guest service and operational efficiency.
The Public Space House Person is expected to be vigilant in maintaining all public spaces, ensuring that each guest’s journey through the hotel is met with cleanliness and professionalism. Beyond routine maintenance and sanitation, responsibilities include assisting with room attendant duties when necessary, managing lost and found items in accordance with hotel policies, and promptly reporting maintenance issues to supervisory staff. The role also involves logistical tasks such as delivering clean linens to designated sections, collecting and disposing of trash in outside dumpsters, vacuuming guest corridors, and keeping hallways and closets organized. The position demands adherence to safety protocols to protect guests, colleagues, and the individual worker itself. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in housekeeping or custodial role preferred
- Ability to work overnight shifts
- Ability to handle physical labor including lifting and standing for extended hours
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff

- Ability to follow hotel policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping or hotel cleaning preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and standards consistently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with guestroom cleaning procedures

Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and high standards in lobby areas
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms
- Perform special cleaning assignments as required
- Perform Room Attendant duties as necessary
- Handle items for Lost and Found according to hotel standards
- Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager
- Deliver clean linen to assigned sections if necessary
- Pick up Room Attendants dirty linen or trash as needed
- Collect and dispose trash from service landings to outside dumpsters
- Vacuum guest corridors
- Keep hallways, public areas and closets neat and organized
- Adhere to schedule for project cleaning of public areas
- Maintain stairwells to hotel standards
- Keep ash urns clean and filled with sand
- Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, employees and self
