Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to travel frequently including overnight stays
- Valid passport for international travel
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Capability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Good vision and hearing
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
- Physical ability to perform repetitive bending, twisting, standing, walking, and minimal crawling
- Successful completion of initial training and passing of loadmaster certification tests
- Maintaining valid certification with annual recurrent training
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Airline cargo and ground handling experience recommended
- Airline weight and balance experience recommended
- Proof of IATA/ICAO hazardous materials handling experience recommended
- Understanding of aircraft positions along with heights and weight limitations recommended
- Comprehensive knowledge of ground operations equipment recommended
- Familiarity with air freight and flight terminology and processes
Job Duties
- Pass initial training and testing for loadmaster certification including qualifications to perform all aspects of ground operations including weight and balance, hazardous materials, de-icing, fueling, special loads, catering, security
- Complete annual recurrent training and maintain valid loadmaster certification
- Monitor and/or perform duties including aircraft loading/unloading, aircraft movement, safety compliance, hazardous materials handling, reporting, pallet build-up
- Review, analyze, and utilize load manifests, cargo buildup logs, or warehouse weight sheets to generate load plans/loadsheets
- Use company programs to build weight and balance
- Review cargo documentation for accuracy and completeness and report discrepancies
- Maintain current passport, travel to off-line stations worldwide, and qualify for CAAC card for AMC operations
- Ensure safety by preventing aircraft damage, proper loading with nets and locks, compliance with hazardous materials loading and paperwork, load plan development, and weight and balance determination
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety and governmental regulations
- Ensure personnel at off-line stations perform tasks for timely aircraft arrival and departure
- Operate aircraft loading systems following established procedures
- Monitor contractor compliance with pallets, nets, and straps procedures
- Complete and maintain company reports, files, logs, and ensure paperwork completion
- Adhere to company operating and safety policies and perform other duties as assigned
