The role of Day of Show Runner is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of live events. This position provides comprehensive day-of-show support to the Production Manager, Back of House team, and Touring Personnel. The successful candidate manages critical logistics such as the day-of-show parking list and show credentials. Additionally, they are responsible for creating vital documents like meal tickets, sign-in sheets, and back of house signage required during events. Managing onsite Runners is also a key component, as is the handling and reconciliation of petty cash to support various operational needs. This role demands a flexible schedule as the environment requires working early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the dynamic needs of live shows. Physical demands include working in a fast-paced, often loud and stressful atmosphere, with the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
The Day of Show Runner must be passionate, motivated, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal candidate should be resourceful, innovative, forward-thinking, and committed to delivering an outstanding live concert experience. With strong communication skills and punctuality as essentials, proficiency in Microsoft applications and cash handling experience are highly valued. While a high school diploma is required, a bachelor’s degree and experience in a live event operation setting are preferred. Organizational skills like prioritizing, time management, and multitasking are important to succeed in this role.
