Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, event management, hospitality management, parks and recreation management, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • at least one year of professional experience in tourism, event coordination, livestock management, agriculture, parks and recreation, or a related field
  • possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • ability to perform light to moderate physical tasks related to event setup and livestock facility operations
  • must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • strong customer service and communication skills
  • excellent organizational skills
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively

Job Qualifications

  • background in or knowledge of agricultural practices and awareness of current issues and trends in the field is preferred

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize, and oversee all livestock-related events and shows at the Southwest Florida Ag Expo
  • recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate volunteers, ensuring a productive and motivated livestock volunteer team
  • develop and implement community outreach strategies to promote the Expo brand and strengthen community engagement
  • organize and host educational workshops that support the mission of the Expo
  • coordinate logistics with event organizers, barn leads, and assistants to ensure smooth execution of livestock activities
  • assist with event operations, including arena preparation, disinfecting facilities, and general event setup
  • cultivate collaborative working relationships with volunteers and staff to promote efficiency and engagement
  • perform clerical and administrative tasks such as data entry, contracts, invoices, payments, reports, and scheduling
  • manage barn and arena-related projects, including coordinating necessary purchases
  • provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns
  • communicate effectively with managers, staff, event organizers, and volunteers to ensure seamless operations
  • maintain compliance with all county policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • support additional county-sponsored events and perform other duties as assigned
