This job opening is for a Liquid Formulation Technician on the second shift, from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm. The role involves the preparation and formulation of liquid media and diagnostic components used in biotechnological applications. The Liquid Formulation Technician will be responsible for following detailed manufacturing protocols and accurately measuring and mixing raw materials, both solid and liquid, using specialized equipment like scales and balances. This position requires proficiency with ERP systems and Mettler-Toledo IND780 terminal systems to track ingredient usage and maintain batch records. Attention to detail is crucial, as the technician must review lot folders, maintain complete documentation, and ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and good laboratory practices (cGLP). An essential part of the job is proper equipment maintenance, calibration of critical instruments like pH meters and osmometers, and ensuring all chemicals are stored and labeled correctly. The ideal candidate will be adept at using various laboratory tools and machinery, maintaining an organized workspace under 6S principles, and working safely with personal protective equipment. Educationally, candidates should have a minimum of an Associate's degree in Chemistry, with a Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent practical experience. Prior experience in a GMP-regulated environment in liquid formulation or compounding is required, ranging from one to five years depending on educational background. Salary ranges between $24.17 and $31.42 per hour, complemented by benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, a 401k plan, and paid time off. Job Requirements

  • knowledge of chemical safety

Job Duties

  • Formulate liquid and diagnostic formulas per manufacturing protocols using weighing equipment such as scales and balances
  • handle solid and liquid raw materials/components to prepare liquid batches
  • use ERP system and Mettler-Toledo IND780 terminal to ensure correct raw materials and quantities
  • review lot folders for accuracy and completeness before production
  • maintain accurate and complete documentation for all performed work
  • navigate electronic documentation systems
  • manage transactions associated with components and supplies to maintain inventory accuracy
  • adhere to line clearance requirements to maintain cGMP and cGLP compliance
  • clean and maintain equipment and mixing vessels for production use
  • obtain release stickers to ensure compliance with SOPs
  • collect and forward samples to Quality Control
  • suggest procedural improvements and updates to SOPs
  • maintain required logs and documentation
  • ensure proper storage and labeling of chemicals
  • perform calibration of equipment including pH meters and osmometers
  • verify scale/balance calibration and conduct in-process scale checks
  • keep workspace, utensils, and equipment clean and organized following 6S standards
  • ensure supplies like weigh boats, gloves, and lab coats are stocked
  • order supplies or inform supervisor when needed
  • adhere to safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment
  • handle chemicals safely and properly
  • operate dry heat oven, steam autoclave, centrifuge, mixers, heaters, pH/osmolality meters
  • perform other duties as assigned by lead or supervisor
