The Linen Sorter role at NYU Langone Health offers a vital contribution to the hospital's operational efficiency by managing the organization and distribution of clean linens and scrubs throughout various hospital units. This part-time or full-time position is essential in ensuring that all authorized clean linen storage areas are stocked adequately and well-maintained. The Linen Sorter is responsible for the inspection and delivery of clean linen items, replenishment of scrub machines, consolidation of linen carts, and accurate use of handheld data collection devices to monitor inventory levels. Additionally, the role involves performing soiled scrub pickups and maintaining a clean, organized linen storage environment. Job Requirements

Must be able to read, speak, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Combination of education and experience in a related field
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

Job Duties

Ensure all clean linen is weighed in upon delivery
All clean linen is immediately taken to the authorized clean linen storage room
Perform other duties as assigned in a manner that is in keeping with departmental customer service standards
Inspect all linen as it is delivered to the units, ensure that linen is free of stains, smells, etc.
Delivery of scrubs to dispensing machines are performed as required
Soiled scrub pickup is performed and soiled scrubs brought down to the bulk soiled linen collection room
Consolidate carts, take empty bins to the soiled chute room, download collected data, and maintain cleanliness and organization in the clean linen bulk storage room
Take clean linen to distribution points and conduct inventory of on-hand supplies using hand-held devices
Restock units with appropriate levels of linen
